Painting that moves. Music that paints. “Beyond the Frame” arrives from Vienna to Varna and turns Bankata 1925 into a stage. 27–29 March 2026, free entry.
“Beyond the Frame” arrives from Vienna to Varna — a multimedia opening where painting, live music and three-dimensional projection happen at once. This is not an ordinary exhibition.
At its centre is Iskren Iliev /ISI/ — an artist from Varna who lives and works in Vienna. During the opening he creates a live visual environment that, through 3D mapping, is projected onto the walls and extends the paintings beyond their frames.
The musical energy comes from the Wladigeroff Brothers — internationally recognised musicians based in Vienna who blend Balkan sensibility with jazz and classical, joined by Michel Nahabedian and Stoil “Stiu” Ivanov. Sound isn’t a backdrop — it’s part of the image.
The opening night is when the exhibition becomes an event; over the next two days it continues as a standalone show.
Realised under the project “A new generation of local cultural policies in the Municipality of Varna”, funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
